Virtual Pledge

Pledge Purple was started in 2015 to address specific forms of harm that impact ECU, university communities, and the world. The movement focuses on education and advocacy with the goal of ending bullying, harassment, hazing, and sexual violence. We believe that we have the power to make positive change for our community and beyond.

While the initiative is yearlong, the Women and Gender Office and countless campus partners (with the help of the student leadership of the Pledge Purple Ambassadors!) lead Pledge Purple Week each year during the first week of November.

Sign the pledge below and be the change:

The Pledge: “I will not use my hands or words in acts of bullying, hazing, sexual assault, or other forms of violence. I will educate myself and others about what forms of violence look like in the Pirate community. I will support my community and safely intervene as an active bystander if I witness acts of violence.”
